"As this vid points out, government (both Canadian and US) is increasingly dependent on casinos for tax revenue. They put heavy taxes on casino profits. Why doesn't the government just take over the casinos, effectively taxing them at %100. The same way they do the lottery. Why should private interests benefit from the public losing money? After all, ANYONE could run a casino profitably, its a guaranteed money-maker...the guys who gets gaming licenses just have "friends" in the gaming commission. Gaming is one of the few industries that should not be in private hands."
